Lesson Information

What subjects do you offer?

We currently offer:

  • MATHEMATICS for Grades 8 to 12 (IEB & DBE)
  • PHYSICAL SCIENCES for Grades 10 to 12 (IEB & DBE)
  • Yearly NBT Workshop.
What is included in the monthly fees?
  • Our fees include a minimum of 4 sessions (approximately 8 hours) per month
  • Grade 10 to 12 students have full access to our ONLINE PORTAL for prerecorded teaching and practice materials
  • Additional lessons for cycle test preparation when required (booking required)
  • Exam preparation workshop
  • Past exam papers with memos
  • Yearly NBT Workshop included, free of charge.
Is DBE and IEB separate?
Yes – we offer separate classes for DBE and IEB learners
How long are the sessions?

Our regular weekly sessions are 2 hours and 15 minutes per subject.

Please note that the format and times for exam preparation and holiday workshops differ from our weekly sessions. These specific schedules will be communicated to you closer to the time via WhatsApp.

How big are the classes?
  • Grades 8 to 11: 8–10 learners per class
  • Grade 12: 10–12 learners per class

Please note that class sizes for our workshops may differ from these regular weekly sessions.

What happens during school holidays and public holidays?

During school holidays, we either continue sessions as usual or provide a specific holiday workshop timetable.

Please note that we are CLOSED on public holidays.

Will you follow my child’s syllabus?
Yes – we follow your child’s school syllabus. Whatever topic they’re covering at school is what we’ll be doing in class.
When do lessons take place?

Each lesson time slot is specifically allocated, school dependant. Lessons generally run between Wednesday & Sunday. Classes are scheduled in 2.5-hour intervals.

How many TRIAL LESSONS can I book?
You can book one FREE trial lesson per learner.
What happens if the student misses a session?

Parents need to inform the Teacher that the student will be absent. We try to fit in “make-up” sessions according to our timetable, however, it would be up to the parent/student to plan with the teacher to catch up any work missed.

Online Self Study

What is Online Self Study?

All registered students (for any branch) will get access to our Online Moodle platform which has self-study videos available to you 24/7.

Additionally, the online self-study platform is available as an independent subscription. Find more information on our Online Page

Payment Information

Is there a registration fee?

Yes, there is a ONCE OFF registration fee of R1000.

What is the charge per lesson?

We DO NOT charge per lesson. We charge a flat monthly tuition fee which includes all the additional services.

Fees are charged and due a month in advance up until final exams are written.

Are there any DISCOUNTS available for tuition?
  • 10% Sibling Discount per child from one family registered with us.
  • 5% Upfront Discount for fees paid in advance for the full year (10 months)
  • Students associated with the Horizon Educational Trust also receive a discount on fees (amount on request).
Do we have to pay for a trial lesson?
No – our trial lessons are completely free.
Do you accept cash payments?
No – we do not accept cash.
Do you accept ATM cash deposits?
Yes – we accept ATM cash deposits.
Do you have a credit card machine?
No – we only accept EFTs (electronic funds transfers) / ATM Cash deposits.

NBT - National Benchmark Tests

Do we provide anything for NBTs?

Yes, we conduct a 10-12 week, online comprehensive preparation program for NBTs. This includes preparations for MAT, QL & AL.

The program usually runs from the start of April up until the end of June yearly.

All currently registered students get access to the yearly NBT workshop, free of charge.
